The Tone of Your Voice
It’s not so much what you say as the manner in which you say it.
It’s not so much the language you use as the tone in which you convey it.
“Come here!” I sharply said, and the child cowered and wept.
“Come here,” I said.  He looked and smiles and straight to my lap he crept.

Words may be mild and fair but the tone may pierce like a dart.
Words may be soft as the summer air but the tone may break my heart.
For words come from the mind, grow by study and art.
But tone leaps from inner self, revealing the state of the heart.

Whether you know it or not, whether you mean or care, gentleness, kindness, love and hate, envy, anger, are there.
Then, would you quarrels avoid and peace and love rejoice?
Keep anger not only out of your words, keep it out of your voice.

Serving the Children of the World

Kiwanis Club of St. Joseph, Michigan

Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization for individuals desiring personal involvement in the leadership and improvement of their communities. As a group, we can achieve what individuals cannot do alone. Thus our motto and the cornerstone of Kiwanis – "We Build"

Be a part of something special!

Kiwanis Clubs believe
in giving back.  Specifically, we support the children of our communities and the world by providing opportunities for growth.  We provide these opportunities in a variety of ways including college scholarships, music grants to local High Schools, safe and fun community parks, Key Clubs (High School), Builders Clubs (Middle School), Salvation Army bell ringing and generally volunteerism and helping in any way we can.

Kiwanis Clubs provide
members an opportunity to network with other business and community leaders through fellowship at luncheon meetings and volunteerism throughout the community.

Kiwanis Clubs provide
opportunities for members to learn about their communities through informative and entertaining community speakers and programs presented at luncheon meetings.
